Italy's first-quarter photovoltaic installed capacity reached 115.3MW
According to data provided by the Italian Renewable home solar kits system gold coast Energy Association and grid operator Terna, Italy's solar installed capacity reached 115.3 MW in the first quarter of 2020.

Its performance was slightly higher than 105 MW in the same period last year and 89 MW in the first quarter of 2018. February is the fastest growing month this year, at 46.6 MW, followed by March and January, at 35.8 MW and 33.0 MW, respectively.
According to the latest statistics, photovoltaic projects that do not exceed 1 MW account for the vast majority of all new installed capacity, at 96.7 MW. Solar power stations with more than 1 MW only account for 18.6 MW.
The 20 kW residential photovoltaic system still accounts for the largest share, with a capacity of approximately 52.2 MW. The 20 kW to 100 kW photovoltaic system generates 18.3 MW. At the same time, in the first three months of this year, commercial and industrial photovoltaic system installations of 100 kW to 1 MW reached 26.3 MW.

The regions with the highest solar energy development in Italy are the Lombardy region and the southern Sicily region, which have added 19.7 MW of solar capacity. Northern regions, such as Venice and Emilia-Romana, completed the quarter with 12.5 MW and 11.4 MW, respectively.
Data show that as of the end of March, Italy's solar power generation capacity exceeded 21 gigabytes. Its power generation target is to reach 50 trillion trillion by 2030.
