Singapore will build the largest buoyancy solar power plant

    Sembcorp Industries announces that, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Solar Singapore, has been designated as a priority bidder for the construction of a 60 megawatt (Mwp) floating solar photovoltaic on Tengeh Reservoir Power system. When completed in 2021, it will become one of the largest single-floating solar photovoltaic systems in the world.

    Through this project, Sembcorp will become one of Singapore's largest renewable energy companies, with approximately 240MWP of solar power generation in the country. Advancing the development of floating solar farms underscores Sembcorp's commitment to supporting Singapore in achieving its new solar target of at least 2 GW by 2030.

    Sembcorp Solar Singapore will continue to implement the necessary project agreements and strive to meet the prerequisites specified in the PUB proposal application.
