Thailand invests 2.4 billion baht to support photovoltaic projects
The Ministry of Energy of Thailand and the Ministry of the Interior launched the "Photovoltaic into the village" green energy poverty alleviation project. The project is expected to cost 2.4 billion baht and will use green Solar Energy Africa photovoltaic power generation technology to help remote villages bid farewell to the history of no electricity.

Just earlier last week, the Thai local administrative department co-chaired by the Minister of Energy Supatanapong of Thailand, the Minister of Internal Affairs, General Anu Ting, on the 2021 Energy Conservation Support Fund to support the photovoltaic project to help villages solve the problem of no electricity The issue’s policy implementation guidance video conference revealed that in order to better solve the problem of no electricity in remote areas and villages, the Ministry of Energy plans to invest 2.4 billion baht, and the local administrative department directly under the Ministry of the Interior will launch the 2021 photovoltaic poverty alleviation project in villages.
The funds will mainly support three types of photovoltaic power generation and project utilization. One is community power supply stations, including the use of new technologies to develop photovoltaic power generation, bioenergy power generation, biogas power generation, and photovoltaic drying systems, etc.; the second is photovoltaic water pumping systems, such as Water tower pumping system with power generation of 2.5 kilowatts and water storage capacity of 20 cubic meters; 3. Self-power generation projects in areas without electricity, especially villages/communities/schools/hospitals in remote areas without electricity.

The 2.4 billion baht budget will be divided into two parts, one part is directly allocated by the government, each government allocates 25 million baht, and the total of the country's 76 governments is 1.9 billion baht. The other 500 million baht is used as a reserve budget for agricultural water tower photovoltaic pumping system projects. Whether it is a local-level administrative department, a district-level administrative department, or a government-level administrative department can submit project budget support. According to the current schedule, the entire project is expected to start the project application work on March 31, 2021.
