Spain: Newly installed photovoltaic capacity reaches 780MW from January to June

     Spanish electric grid operator Red Electrica de Espana (REE) announced that in the first half of 2020, Spain added 780MW of 5kw home solar system kit price solar photovoltaic power generation capacity, and wind power added 446MW capacity. These two renewable energy sources have added 1,226MW capacity in total. During this period, the largest increase in photovoltaic capacity was mainly due to the launch of the Spanish Iberdrola 500MW solar power project.

    According to REE data, as of June 2020, solar photovoltaic power generation was 1,792GWh, and annual output increased by 92%, and the contribution of photovoltaic power generation set a new record. In June 2020, the proportion of photovoltaic power generation accounted for 9.2% of the total power generation; from January to June, solar photovoltaic power generation accounted for 6.1% of the country's total power generation.

    In 2019, Spain became the European solar champion with a new installed photovoltaic capacity of 4.7GW, with a cumulative installed capacity of 8.913 GW.   According to the data in the first half of 2020, as of the end of June, Spain's cumulative solar photovoltaic installed capacity reached 9.693 GW.

    Renewable energy, especially solar and wind energy, has bright prospects in Spain because the country plans to achieve its goal of 100% renewable energy in its power system by 2050. In order to achieve this goal, the Spanish government has set ambitious photovoltaic and wind power generation project construction goals, large-scale deployment of renewable energy. According to the plan, the total installed capacity of Spanish CSP stations will reach 4.8GW by 2025 and 7.3GW by 2030.
