European solar power generation hits a record high in the second quarter of 2020
According to data analysis of EnAppSys, as of June 30, the European solar power generation in the second quarter of 2020 was about 47.6 TWh, which was nearly 22% higher than the 39.1 TWh in the second quarter of 2019 and compared to the second quarter of 2018 The 40.1TWh was 18.7% higher than the 40.6TWh set in the third quarter of 2018, 19% higher, setting a new European solar solar system for home electricity price photovoltaic power generation record.
This is also the quarter in which solar power generation accounted for the highest proportion of total power generation since records, 7.8% exceeding the previous record of 6.3% set in the second quarter of 2019.
While solar power generation has reached new heights, fossil fuel power generation has also reached the lowest quarterly value in the past five years. In the second quarter of 2020, solar power generation accounted for 45% of the total power structure, fossil fuels accounted for only one-third (31%) of Europe's total power generation, and nuclear energy accounted for 25%.
