Switzerland's cumulative installed solar capacity reaches 3.65GW by 2021

    A few days ago, Swiss Federal Energy revealed that Switzerland will deploy about 683MW of Solar Generator System Kit photovoltaic capacity in 2021, an increase of 43% compared to the previous year.

    "This trend will continue in 2022, with 850MW to 900MW of PV expected to be deployed," said the Swiss Solar Professionals Association.

    Last year, the residential solar segment grew by about 60 percent, while the commercial segment grew by about 53 percent. The average size of newly installed PV systems was 25.3 kW, indicating that the utility-scale solar segment has also grown.

    As of the end of December last year, Switzerland’s cumulative installed solar capacity had reached 3.65GW, which is enough to meet about 6% of the world’s electricity demand.
