Colombia's renewable energy capacity will exceed 1GW by the end of 2021
The Colombian government recently stated that it is expected that by the end of 2021, Colombia's installed capacity of unconventional renewable Solar Products For Sale energy will exceed 1,000 MW.

Colombian President Ivan Duque said at a meeting in the province of La Guajira that the government has set a goal to increase the proportion of renewable energy in Colombia’s energy mix to 14% by the end of the current term. This is a significant increase from the 0.2% when the current government took office in August 2018.
According to data from the Colombian national grid operator XM Compania de Expertos en Mercados, Colombia currently has 80.5 megawatts of installed solar power, including power stations for on-site consumption, and a wind farm with an installed capacity of 18.42 megawatts.

Currently, Colombia’s total installed capacity is 17,538.41 MW, of which 11,944.79 MW is produced by large hydroelectric power plants.
Colombia stated that it will provide large industrial users with more than 4,800 megawatts of renewable energy capacity through an energy storage bidding and electricity bidding.
