The Dutch National Bureau of Statistics announced on Tuesday that compared with 2018, renewable energy solar plant consumption in the Netherlands increased by 16% to 181 PJ in 2019.

According to the latest data from the office, more than half of the increase was due to increased biomass consumption, especially in power plants and mixed combustion of biodiesel and biogasoline.
CBS explained: "Biomass energy is the largest single energy source of renewable energy, and its consumption increased by 15% to 106 PJ in 2019. The consumption of liquid biotransport fuel increased from 23 PJ to 28 PJ, an increase of 24 %. In power plants, the power and heat generated by combined combustion increases from 3PJ to 8PJ."

Last year, the country’s solar energy consumption for electricity and heat also increased by 37% to 20 PJ.
The growth of solar power installed capacity reached a new high, from 2300 MW to 6800 MW, an increase of 51%.
Finally, wind energy consumption increased by 7% to 39 PJ. The installed capacity of wind turbines has increased from 4,400 MW at the end of 2018 to 4,500 MW at the end of 2019.
The capacity of offshore wind farms remains unchanged at approximately 1,000 MW.
