Thailand's largest floating solar farm will be completed in June 2021
The first batch of solar panels for Thailand's first floating Solar Plant For Home solar farm has been put in place. It is expected that this solar farm in Ubon Ratchathani in the northeast will be completed in June this year and will become the newest local tourist attraction.

In order to cooperate with the global implementation of clean energy policies, the Thai government is building what is known as the world's largest floating solar farm in Ubon Ratchathani. The Ministry of Industry and Energy of Thailand also plans to build four floating solar farms in different industrial areas.
Thailand’s Energy Minister Surya said that as the new US President Biden takes office, the United States is expected to adopt a more environmentally friendly energy policy, including rejoining the Paris Agreement, while Thailand’s active shift to clean energy is consistent with Biden’s energy policy. "The Thai government hopes to create a good environment for industrial zones and industries."

The Electric Power Authority of Thailand has installed the first batch of solar panels for the Xilindong Hydropower Dam Reservoir. These solar panels are expected to generate 45 megawatts of electricity.
About 12% of Thailand’s energy in 2019 comes from sustainable energy. The Thai government hopes that initiatives such as floating solar farms can help Thailand increase its sustainable energy ratio to 37% by 2036.
