UAE ADNOC signs the largest clean energy agreement

    According to the "Energy Year" Abu Dhabi report, the UAE's state-owned oil company Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced on October 27 that it has signed an agreement with the UAE Hydropower Company to ensure that 100% of its grid electricity comes from nuclear and Solar Energy Home System energy.

    According to the agreement, the UAE Hydropower Company will supply all ADNOC's electricity needs from January 2022.

    This depends on ADNOC's efforts to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2030 and the UAE's initiative to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

    This transaction is the largest of its kind in the hydrocarbon industry.

    The cost of the agreement and the amount of electricity required were not disclosed.
