Indian government will build a pilot project for a completely solar village
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) of India announced that it has issued guidelines related to the complete small solar panel cost solarization of Modhera town in Gujarat.
It is reported that the cost of full solarization in cities and towns is expected to be 650 million rupees, and the central government and state governments will each bear up to 50% of the central financial assistance, that is, 325 million rupees are provided by the central government, and the remaining 50% are provided by the Gujarat government.

The Indian government launched the plan to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of solarizing a small town in the Mehsana district of Gujarat, which may also promote tourism.
The project is expected to be completed in December this year.
The program features include the establishment of renewable energy facilities, such as 6MW photovoltaic power plants; 15MWh battery energy storage system (BESS); rooftop photovoltaic systems for homes and government buildings; smart energy components, such as smart meter infrastructure (AMI) and distribution Electric automation; solar electric vehicle charging stations; retrofitting street lamps with energy-saving LED lights; intelligent load monitoring and data centers.

To a considerable extent, this program has the potential to meet the household and agricultural power needs of all households in the town using solar energy, thereby establishing a pilot demonstration project in villages and towns that fully uses solar energy.
At the same time, the government has tendered for the project to be installed through Gujarat State Power Co., Ltd. (GPCL) and started to implement the project.
