Recently, the consulting company BridgetoIndia released the latest data on the rooftop solar market in India in 2019. As of December 31, 2019, the cumulative installed capacity of home solar kit system rooftops in India is 5.44GW, and the newly installed capacity is 1.53GW. Among them, the industrial and commercial roof installation capacity is 3.964GW, the residential installation capacity is 748MW, and the public utility department installation capacity is 728MW.
The number one installed capacity is Maharashtra, with an installed capacity of 812MW; Rajasthan is closely followed, with a roof installed capacity of 482MW, and Tamil Nadu ranked third with an installed capacity of 464MW. The states with the lowest rooftop solar installations are Himal State (10 MW) and Bihar (22 MW).
The number one inverter supplier is Gurawatt, which has a share of about 21% in the 1.53G rooftop solar market, followed by Jinlang (18%) and Sungrow (17%).
The top ranking for rooftop solar developers is Cleantech Solar's 15.4% market share, followed by Third Partner (12.3%) and Amplus (11.7%).
