A few days ago, Danish renewable energy company European Energy will build a 128.5MW solar power park in Sweden. When the Pv Photovoltaic System project is completed, the power plant will be Sweden's largest solar facility, with an annual power generation capacity of 175GWh. The park is expected to be completed in 2023 and start generating electricity in 2024.

It is reported that in April this year, the solar park construction project was suspended, but the decision was later reversed.

Jens-Peter Zink, Deputy CEO of European Energy, said: “This is a milestone in the history of large-scale solar power generation in Sweden. This case is ecstatic for residents and companies in southern Sweden, who have long suffered from power shortages and high electricity prices. The Svedberga solar power park will produce new green electricity that can power 35,000 households annually, the largest new energy contribution we have made to the region in years."

The total area of the Svedberga solar power park is 232.5 hectares, of which about 1/3 is used for photovoltaic power generation.

According to the Swedish Energy Agency, as of December 2021, the installed PV capacity in Sweden reached 1.59GW, an increase of 1.09GW year-on-year. Figures show that 2021 will be Sweden's best year for solar deployment, with around 500MW of new grid-connected capacity.
