According to the project report of Pakistan ’s National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the country will develop a solar project of 49.5 MW. The project is managed by private company Javed Solar Park Co., Ltd. According to this procedure, a 49.5 MW solar power plant off grid solar kit system will be built in Luni, Khyber district. Since solar energy is a clean energy source, the reference electricity price of the project has aroused domestic concern. The company recommended that the electricity price for the first 11 years of operation of the solar power plant be US $ 0.0855 / kWh (equivalent to RMB 0.6093 kWh, which is quite cheap), and then drop to US $ 0.0565 / kWh (equivalent to RMB 0.4027) in the next two years From 14 to 25 years, it will also drop to $ 0.02969 / kWh (0.2116 yuan per kilowatt hour, do you dare to think?). According to NEPRA's announcement, the standardised electricity price is US $ 0.07145 / kWh (0.5092 yuan).

Off Grid Solar Kit System Price

In the past 25 years, the electricity price in Pakistan has dropped from US $ 0.14 / kWh to US $ 0.05 / kWh, which is actually cheaper than solar power. When this  happens, the analysis in this article is due to the construction cost of the new solar project, which will also be gradually allocated to the electricity price. As the project continues to develop, the solar electricity price will become cheaper and cheaper. In addition, Pakistan's independent power generator Kulachi Solar power is also participating in the competition. They proposed a flat electricity price of US $ 0.076 / kWh, which will also play a positive role in gradually reducing.

According to the “Renewable Energy Readiness Assessment: Pakistan Report” released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Pakistan ’s renewable energy market will continue to expand, and NEPRA reviews and adjusts electricity prices through a “cost plus” mechanism. "Preliminary electricity price" includes NEPRA and other relevant agencies to pre-determine the mining electricity price of a specific project type, and invite industry representatives and experts to make recommendations before determining the final on-grid electricity price.
