Greece 200MW large-scale solar project will be tendered in the near future

    Recently, the renewable energy division of the Greek public utility company PPC SA has completed bidding for the concession and construction of the first 30MW  off grid solar panel kit solar park in Kozani, northwest Greece.

    Among them, a 15MW project with a budget of about 10 million euros ($ 10.9 million), four companies participated in the bidding. According to sources, the ultimate winner may be Metka under the Greek Mytilineos SA, and the project is expected to start in July. In another bid for a 15MW solar power plant contract worth 15 million euros, the preferred bidder may be GEK Terna Group ’s construction company Terna SA.

    These two projects are only part of Kozani's 230MW large-scale integrated project. The remaining 200MW solar project is the largest solar power plant project in Greece. It is expected to begin bidding on May 28. Construction is scheduled to begin in August and will be completed by the end of 2021. After the project is completed, it indicates that Greece is building a "green energy new pattern." Greece plans to increase the installed capacity of photovoltaics from the current over 2.6GW to 7.7GW in 2030.
