According to data provided by the French Ministry of Energy's Department of Data and Statistical Research (SDES), after the French launched a new solar photovoltaic off grid solar system price power plant of 182 megawatts in the first quarter of 2020, the total solar photovoltaic grid-connected capacity in France exceeded 10 GW.

As of the end of March, France had 10,072 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic installed capacity, compared with 9,892 MW a year ago. Most of these facilities are located in France. In the first quarter alone, 6,933 new devices were put into use, totaling 182MW, with an annual growth rate of 7%.
According to statistics, the largest number of grid-connected photovoltaic power stations that were commissioned from January to March were in southern France, mainly in New Aquitaine, Ossini, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Ivoire. In terms of capacity, about 41% of newly commissioned power plants have a capacity greater than 250kW.

Due to higher solar radiation levels, solar power generation in the first quarter was 2.3TWh, higher than 2.2TWh in the same period last year. In the past three months, photovoltaic power generation has met the country’s 1.7% electricity demand.
At the end of March, the pipeline capacity of solar projects in France was 7.4 GW. Of these, about 1.8 GW have already signed a grid connection contract.
