Middle East renewable energy capacity reaches 24GW

    The Middle East Economic Digest reported on April 19 that the latest report from the International Renewable Solar Panels Buy Energy Agency (Irena) shows that global installed renewable energy capacity will reach 3,587GW by the end of 2021, while the total installed capacity in the Middle East is 24GW, although it is an increase from the same period last year. 4.5%, but less than 1% of global installed capacity.

    In terms of total installed capacity, the Middle East outperformed only Central America and the Caribbean with 17GW. In terms of growth rate, the Middle East is only faster than Africa and Central America and the Caribbean (3.9% and 3.3% annual growth, respectively).
