Kazakhstan Energy Minister Nogayev said at a media briefing that day that as of now, Kazakhstan has 110 renewable energy power generation projects with a total installed capacity of 1,528 MW Solar Energy Products. Among them, wind power is 404 MW, solar power is 891 MW, hydropower is 224 MW, and biomass power is 7.82 MW. It is estimated that by the end of 2020, 4 renewable energy projects with a total installed capacity of 165 MW will be completed and put into operation.

Nuo said that according to the plan, the proportion of renewable energy power generation in Kazakhstan should reach 3% in 2020, and this plan has been completed. It is estimated that by 2030, the proportion of renewable energy power generation will rise to 10% and reach 50% in 2050. At present, the Kazakh government has approved a hydropower development plan and plans to build 13 hydropower stations, 34 wind power stations and 12 solar power stations in the next 4 years. By 2025, Kazakhstan's total installed capacity of renewable energy will reach 3000 megawatts.
