Danish renewable energy developer Better Energy has secured a seven-year power purchase agreement (PPA) that will build a 34MW Solar Energy Electricity solar power plant in Guldborgsund in southern Denmark.

The company said that the solar park will be connected to the grid in the next 12 months. The Danish pharmaceutical company Lundbeck will purchase the electricity generated by the solar park at an undisclosed price. Better Energy said in a statement: "The agreement is a hedge against rising electricity costs, because it needs to reduce fixed electricity costs over the next seven years." "Denmark solar energy is now more cost-effective than fossil energy."
According to Denmark's long-term power purchase agreement, Better Energy has established a 50-megawatt solar project that will power the Apple data center in Viborg. In addition, the Danish clothing company Bestseller announced in 2019 that it will work with independent power producer Better Energy to build a 125 MW solar facility to power its operations.

There are other unsubsidized solar installations under development in Scandinavian countries, including a 400MW solar project near Nissum Fjord, a 500MW installation agreed by Encavis and Greengo to develop in May, and a 200MW photovoltaic power plant in Holstebro municipality.
