Hyundai plans to build a 1.37GW large-scale solar cell plant in South Korea
Hyundai Energy Solutions, a photovoltaic module manufacturer under South Korean shipbuilding group Hyundai Heavy Industries, plans to build a 1.37GW solar cell manufacturing plant in South Korea this year. The first 650MW Roof Solar System production line will be deployed at the end of June, and the batteries produced by the factory will be used exclusively for the production of components in Hyundai Korea.

"The battery technology is Mono PERC M10 cells, and the cells will be used exclusively in Hyundai Group's module manufacturing," a company spokesperson revealed to "Photovoltaic" magazine. "The components produced using these batteries will be sold to the Korean and American markets."
The manufacturer has planned to deploy a 650MW production line in the first half of this year and a 720MW production line in the second half of the year.
Hyundai Group recently opened a 750MW module manufacturing plant in Eunseong County, Chungcheongbuk Province, South Korea, with a total module capacity of 1.35GW. The company also produces shingled components through an original design manufacturer (ODM) in China.

Modern energy solutions entered the solar module market in 2004. The company is also a supplier of photovoltaic systems.
