On April 5th, the commencement ceremony of the 30MW PV project in Hida, Myanmar was held in Mandalay Province, Myanmar. Mandalay local government representative Wu Ting'ai, Off The Grid Solar Panel System project leader of Power Construction Overseas Investment Company, representatives of the tenth Bureau of Hydropower and other participating units jointly attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

U Tin Aye said at the groundbreaking ceremony that the Xida photovoltaic power generation project embodies the ardent expectations of all walks of life in Mandalay, and is a model of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between China and Myanmar in the field of clean energy. He pointed out that vigorously developing new energy industries such as photovoltaics and wind power is an important starting point for the local government of Mandalay to promote the development of green economy. Mandalay Province has excellent endowment of light resources and good construction conditions. The successful holding of the ceremony marks that Mandalay has ushered in a major progress in this year's infrastructure construction and energy development plan, which has greatly boosted the confidence of local economic development.
In his speech, the project leader expressed his gratitude to the Myanmar Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the State Power Corporation and the local government of Mandalay who have long cared about, supported and helped the project. It is pointed out that the Xida photovoltaic power generation project, as one of the five sub-projects of the photovoltaic project group in central Myanmar, is a key construction project in the power development plan of Myanmar. As the first large-scale ground photovoltaic project invested and developed by POWERCHINA in Mandalay Province, this project is located at the key node of the “Belt and Road” construction and the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor, which is highly in line with the “Belt and Road” initiative and the “Carbon Peak, carbon neutrality" strategic goal. The successful development and construction of the project will further deepen the economic and trade cooperation and friendship between China and Myanmar, which is of great strategic significance.

The Central Myanmar Photovoltaic Project Group officially signed the bid-winning notification letter on March 15. Haitou and all the participating parties actively promoted the construction of the project. The second start-up project after the start of the Tortaya photovoltaic power generation project. The planned AC installed capacity of the project is 30MW. After completion, it will be directly integrated into the Myanmar national grid, which will greatly improve the current situation of power shortage in the local area and in Myanmar, and play an important role in promoting the local economic development.
