Pakistan announces new renewable energy policy

     Recently, the Pakistani government officially announced the 2020 Alternative and Renewable home power storage Energy Policy, which promises to introduce power plants through open competitive bidding to obtain the lowest tariffs and technology transfer.

    Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Petroleum Affairs Babar said that imported equipment, machinery and manufacturing materials will be exempt from customs or import taxes, and investment will be exempt from income tax.

    The price of wind and solar power has been reduced to 4-4.5 cents per unit, and it is hoped that it will drop below 3.5 cents after bidding.
