Brazil's state-owned energy research company EPE recently announced that it has registered Electric Solar Power 66,862 MW of renewable energy projects for two auctions to be held on June 25, 2021.

It is understood that the A-3 and A-4 tenders held in June will sign contracts for wind, solar, hydropower and biomass power generation projects. In total, there will be 1,841 competing contracts for energy projects.
Specifically, the A-3 and A-4 tenders will award 1,050 solar projects with a total of 41,852 MW, 700 wind power projects with a total of 22,667 MW, 30 biomass energy projects with a total of 1,358 MW, and 61 hydropower projects. , A total of 985 megawatts.
The winning bidder will obtain a power purchase agreement (PPA), in which the hydroelectric power plant (HPP) has a period of 30 years, biomass energy has a period of 25 years, and wind and solar projects have a period of 20 years.

The Brazilian government has previously stated that the successful bidders of the A-3 round of tenders will start power supply on January 1, 2024 as required, and the successful bidders of the A-4 round of tenders will start power supply on January 1, 2025.
