New 1.6MW solar power plant in southern Estonia

     A solar power plant with 10,000 cost efficiency of solar panels is being built in the village of Jaanikese in the southern border town of Valga. The project was initiated by a company called solar Light OU, and Valga rural self-government The city issued a construction permit to the company on February 20.

    The solar power plant is designed by Nordic Power Management. The 5.72 hectares of land are all planned to be covered with solar panels, and all the electricity produced will be sold to the grid. The cost of a solar power plant exceeds 1 million euros, and the project is expected to generate a return on investment within 10 years. The total capacity of the solar power plant will reach 1600 kilowatts, or 1.6 megawatts.
