It is reported that Uzbekistan released the strategy, which aims to set mid- and long-term goals for the country's power industry development from 2020 to 2030. According to the strategy, from 2020 to 2030, Uzbekistan will achieve an increase in installed power generation capacity and available power generation from 12.9GW to 29.3GW. Of the new capacity, solar power plants will account for 5 GW, and wind farms will account for 3 GW. By 2030, the realization of renewable energy will account for more than a quarter of the country's capacity. At the same time, from 2020 to 2030, Uzbekistan ’s power generation will increase from 63.6 billion kWh to 120.8 kWh; natural gas consumption will decrease from 16.5 billion cubic meters to 12.1 billion cubic meters. By 2030, the country ’s power transmission losses will be reduced to 2.35% and distribution losses to 6.5%.
