The total installed photovoltaic capacity in Israel was 1.19GW

    The Israeli Ministry of Energy has recently announced a new energy and water conservancy infrastructure investment plan of approximately $ 7.1 billion to help the country ’s economy recover from the impact of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic. Of this, approximately $ 1.8 billion will be used to add 2 GW of home solar panel kit photovoltaic power generation capacity across Israel.

    It is reported that the plan also includes the re-tendering of the previously canceled Negev Desert photovoltaic power plant, which will increase the installed capacity of the project from 300 MW to 500 MW.

    Israel will support photovoltaic development through bidding for large-scale projects and subsidy programs including feed-in tariffs.

    According to data from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), as of the end of 2019, the total installed capacity of photovoltaics in Israel was about 1.19 GW, and the new installed capacity in 2019 was about 120 MW.
