Tunisia to install 3.8GW of photovoltaics in 2030

    The strategy is part of the Tunisian Solar Energy Plan, which will help reduce primary energy consumption by 30 percent and generate 30 percent of electricity from renewable sources by 2030," said Neila Nouira Gongi, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines.     It is understood that the department has launched tenders to promote investment in the renewable energy sector with a total capacity of 1,100 MW, of which 500 MW under concession contracts, 400 MW under authorized systems and 200 MW systems under self-generated electricity.

    The minister also noted that the government will implement several structural reforms in the renewable energy sector, including the creation of a regulatory body in the power sector and the publication of a magazine dedicated to renewable energy.
