21.74GW Project List, 2020 PV Outlook for the Middle East and North Africa
The Middle East Solar Industry Association recently released the 2020 PV Outlook for the Middle East and North Africa. The report confirms that the installed capacity of photovoltaics in the Middle East & North Africa will grow again in 2019, and solar system on grid energy is becoming increasingly important in the region's energy landscape. Leading countries in the region are steadily launching more large-scale renewable energy and solar projects such as Morocco, Egypt and the UAE. Project bidding is underway in Oman, and Kuwait, Tunisia, and Pakistan, Iraq and other countries are preparing the first large-scale utility project.
Numbers illustrate this trend: Estimate APICORP values for the region according to Frost and Sullivan

The report predicts that the total renewable energy investment in the Middle East and North Africa region from 2019 to 2023 is expected to reach 71.4 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 34% of the total investment in the power sector. The currently running solar projects are estimated to be 5 billion to 7.5 billion U.S. dollars. The total project value is expected to reach 15 billion to 20 billion US dollars.

Even though large-scale ground power projects may remain limited, demand for commercial, industrial, and residential roofs is rising.
