South America's largest photovoltaic project goes into commercial operation
Recently, the 475MW scale of South America's largest solar system cost project, which was called the energy company Enel Group, has been put into commercial operation.
The Enel Group said that the 475MW generating set of the Sao Goncalo photovoltaic power station in northeastern Brazil has been connected to the grid, and under full start-up operation, the annual power generation will exceed 1200GWh.

It is reported that another 133MW part of the project was constructed in August last year. After completion, the total installed capacity of Sao Goncalo will reach 608MW. Enel said that if the entire plant is put into production, the entire plant will eventually reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 860,000 tons per year.
Brazilian power regulator Aneel has previously said it is considering cutting solar-related incentives, but Reuters reported last week that Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro would cancel solar taxes.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), renewable energy meets almost 45% of Brazil's primary energy needs. The International Energy Agency states that large hydropower stations account for about 80% of domestic power generation.
In October last year, the agency said that it is expected that global renewable energy installations will increase by 50% between 2019 and 2024, of which photovoltaic power generation will account for nearly 60% of the expected growth.
