Japanese car manufacturer Nissan said on December 1 that it has obtained planning permission to build a 20-megawatt solar power plant in the company’s plant in northeastern England. This plant will have enough power to Solar Power Kits For Sale electricity. It is used to produce all the Leaf pure electric vehicles sold by Nissan in Europe.

Nissan said that construction of the new power plant is about to start and will be completed by May 2022. After completion, this new solar power plant will double the renewable energy used by Nissan’s Sunderland plant to 20% of its total demand.
Earlier this week, Nissan said it would invest 2 trillion yen (approximately US$17.64 billion) in five years to accelerate the process of electrification, so as to catch up with competitors in the fastest-growing field of the automotive industry.
In July of this year, Nissan stated that it would jointly invest 1 billion pounds (approximately US$1.33 billion) with its Chinese partner Envision Power to build a battery plant that will provide power batteries for 100,000 electric vehicles each year, including a new crossover that Nissan will release soon. The new model has not yet been named. The new battery plant will create 6,200 jobs in the Sunderland plant and the UK supply chain. According to people familiar with the matter, Nissan pays close attention to battery research and development and tries its best to ensure the supply of this key component.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that Nissan’s move demonstrated “confidence in the UK and our highly skilled workers in the Northeast”. Nissan said that the United Kingdom provided support for this plan.
