After the completion of the Spanish energy giant Iberdrola in December 2019, it has completed the commissioning of the 500-megawatt Núñez de Balboa development project, the largest solar power house system cost photovoltaic power station in Europe.

The 300-million-euro project, which went into operation on Monday, is located in Usagre, Hinojosa del Valle and Bienvenue in the Extremadura region of southern Spain Between the three cities of Bienvenida. Iberdrola collaborated with local power supplier Ecoenergías del Guadiana on project development work, deploying 1,430,000 solar panels, 115 central inverters and two substations in the power plant.
Iberdrola managed to obtain green financing from the European Investment Bank and the Official Credit Institute of Spain. After signing a preliminary power purchase agreement with financial service provider Kutxabank in July, the company signed a power purchase agreement with Uvesco (BM Supermarcados) covering the total installed capacity of 391 MW in November 2018. In addition, the company reached another power purchase agreement with Euskaltel, a telecommunications service provider based in the Basque Country, in mid-October.

Iberdrola plans to install 3 GW of solar power by 2022, of which 2 GW will be located in Extremadura. The company's goal is to reach a deployment scale of approximately 10 GW by 2030. As early as June, the company announced that it will build two installations with a total installed capacity of 800 MW near Cuenca in Castilla-La Mancha in central and southern Spain. plan.
