Orissa State of India plans to develop 500MW floating solar power station
The Orissa government plans to work with the National Hydroelectric Corporation to develop about 500MW of floating solar panel system price solar kit power plants on the state's reservoirs.

It is worth noting that according to a report from the Indian Institute of Energy and Resources (TERI), the Orissa Reservoir covers an area of more than 877 square kilometers, and the floating solar power station has a development potential of 17.8GW.
As of February 29, the state has installed 521.69MW of renewable energy generation capacity (including 397.84MW from solar power), and the state also plans to develop about 358MW of ground installed capacity based on different projects. In addition, the Orissa government plans to establish 19 MW rooftop solar projects on government buildings in 17 cities in the state through GEDCOL.

According to the TERI report, India's reservoir area is 18,000 square kilometers and it is possible to accommodate 280GW of floating solar power generation capacity; the report calculates floating solar potential based on 30% of the country's water surface area for medium and large reservoirs. Among them, the largest potential is Maharashtra, where the reservoir has a surface area of more than 3173 square kilometers and can hold 57891MW of floating solar energy.
