Commercial Operation of Phase A of 900MW Photovoltaic Project in Dubai Phase V!
On August 16, local time, the Dubai Phase V 900 MW Solar Electrical System Photovoltaic Project held a celebration event for the commercial operation of Phase A.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Chief of Dubai, Maktoum Bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Chief of Dubai, Dubai Civil Aviation Prince Ahmed bin Said Al Maktoum, Director of the Bureau and Chairman of Emirates Airlines, and Said Mohamed Tayr, Executive Chairman of Dubai Water and Electricity Authority attended the meeting; Li Xuhang, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai, accepted Invitation to attend. The event was hosted by the owner Shure Energy.
During the event, Sheikh Mohammed and Li Xuhang exchanged views on the development of the UAE's new energy market, the Dubai Phase IV 700 MW solar thermal + 250 MW photovoltaic project, and Dubai Phase V 900 MW photovoltaic project construction. At the same time, the event expressed appreciation to the project team for resisting the pressure of the epidemic and persisting in advancing the spirit of project construction, and congratulated the project for its achievement in commercial operation.

It is reported that the project is located in the planning site of the fifth phase of the Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai. It is constructed by Shanghai Electric as a general contractor. It is divided into three blocks, A, B, and C, and each phase is 300 MW. The project has overcome various difficulties since its official start on July 28, 2020, and successfully completed a 10-day performance evaluation test on July 24, 2021, realizing the commercial operation of the project ahead of schedule.
The Dubai Phase V Photovoltaic Project Department stated that it is currently actively conducting phase A elimination and temporary handover negotiations, as well as phase B construction work to continue to contribute to local energy.
