India's photovoltaic installations top the list of renewable energy
According to a report by the data analysis company GlobalData, from January 2021, India's installed solar capacity has surpassed wind energy and Pv Solar Panel System has become the country's largest source of renewable energy.

According to the Ministry of New Energy and Renewable Energy data cited in the report, the solar photovoltaic capacity, including ground photovoltaic and rooftop photovoltaic, reached 38.8GW in January, while wind energy was 38.7GW.
The report predicts that solar photovoltaic will maintain this leading advantage, because the government's key policy promotion provides growth momentum. It is predicted that between 2021 and 2030, new solar photovoltaic capacity will further increase to 107GW, while wind energy is about 64GW.
Wind energy has held a leading position in India's renewable energy reform for more than ten years. "Looking back at the six years since 2011, the solar photovoltaic capacity in 2016 can only reach 40% of the total wind energy installed capacity. However, its installed capacity successfully kept pace with wind energy at the end of 2020, and achieved surpassing by the end of January 2021," Ankit Mathur, the trainee supervisor of GlobalData's power department, said.

The report believes that the abundant solar photovoltaic resources in the Indian states, the decline in equipment and development costs, and the shorter embryonic period are also the reasons for the exponential growth of photovoltaics.
