The German Federal Government finally reached a regulation on the minimum distance between residential areas and onshore wind turbines. Carsten Linnemann of the Christian Democratic Union and Matthias Miersch of the Social Democratic Party confirmed this to the German News Agency. This also cleared the way for the residential and commercial sectors to lift the 52GW home solar system kit cost solar power ceiling.

This restriction was introduced in the 2011 National Renewable Energy Law (EEG) amendments, which outlines the end of the country's grid price plan for all photovoltaic power generation systems that do not exceed 750kW.
Taking into account the current level of solar energy development, Germany will reach the 52GW threshold by this autumn at the latest, and this upper limit has brought pessimism to the German solar industry. According to data from the German Solar Energy Industry Association (BSW-Solar), from January to April this year, the company expectation index fell by half.

In a statement after the agreement was reached, Minister of Economy Peter Altmaier did not provide a specific timetable for abolishing the 52GW installed capacity limit. He said: "We have found a balanced solution, that is, to reach an agreement on the country's opening of the wind clearance zone. We abide by our promise to abolish the photovoltaic power generation ceiling."
